Some decisions in life are incredibly difficult, and for Woody’s previous family, the choice to rehome him was an act of pure selflessness. Their circumstances had changed, and they knew he deserved more than they could give. Thanks to their love for him, and the dedication of the Sprocker Assist and Rescue team, Woody found his way to us—right where he was meant to be.

We had lost our beloved rescue Sprocker, Flak, after 13 wonderful years. Life without him just wasn’t the same, and while we knew no dog could ever replace him, our hearts still had space for another. I always believed that, in time, Flak would send the right dog our way.

That’s when we got the message.

Woody was coming into rescue, and after many calls and questions, we felt it was worth a try. The incredible team at Sprocker Assist helped transport him to meet us halfway, and from the moment we laid eyes on him, we knew. Even if he did pointedly turn his back on me the entire journey home!

Settling in took time. He needed to adjust, and we needed to earn his trust. But with patience, love, and the unwavering support of the rescue, we gave Woody the space he needed to find his feet. Not all rescues are placed in homes with children, but Woody had already been in a family environment, making the transition a little smoother—we just had to trust the process.

Every week, we discover something new about him, and all the concerns we once had about adopting again faded away. Woody has filled our home with joy, laughter, and boundless energy.

We are grateful every single day that Woody found his way to us. We cannot imagine life without him. He is a treasure, and we will forever be thankful that he chose us to be his family.

Can you offer one of our dogs a home?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families.

A home check will be required, along with an adoption donation of between £200 to £500 which helps to contribute to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.  Your case handler will advise the cost of each dog

Please have a read of our adoption process  so you can prepare for how we will work with you and the possible dog. We also offer help and support for you both in the future with our behaviourists.
