Well, I’ve truly settled into my new life with Alex., and I think I’ve got my paws firmly under the table now!

I used to live with my old mum, also called Alex., and her family. They adored me, but life took an unexpected turn, and they decided it was best to find me a new home. Thankfully, my new mum keeps in touch, sending photos to my old family so they know how I’m doing.

My new mum had recently lost Ruby, another SAR dog, and she was very sad. But she says she’s so glad I came to live with her. Apparently, I remind her a lot of Ruby, and she even talks to her about me. I like to think Ruby helped me settle in because everything felt so new at first.

Now, I live by the sea, and we walk to and from work along the beach and through the woods. I absolutely love it, especially when the tide is in—though I was a bit unsure about the waves at first! During the day, I go to work with Mum, where I get to play with everyone and greet all the customers. Mum says I need to work on not barking at them so much, but I just can’t help it—it’s so much fun when they give me attention and play with me!

When I first arrived, I was completely obsessed with my ball. I still think it’s the BEST GAME EVER, but Mum has been gradually weaning me off it. Now, I’ve started enjoying sniffing out all the wonderful scents on our walks in between my zoomies (her words, not mine!).

Mum works for a yacht charter company, so I’ve even been out sailing! I wasn’t fazed at all—I just found some ropes to chew on (oops!).

Recently, we started dog sports training to find out what I might be really good at. The trainer says I learn so quickly that I start mugging Mum for treats if she isn’t fast enough with them! I think I could be good at lots of things, but I need to work on being a little less enthusiastic when food is involved and focus more on the tasks at hand.

Oh, and the best news? Mum has just bought a van! She says we have loads of adventures planned for the summer, and I already adore being in it. I can’t wait to see what’s next for us!

Life is pretty great, and I’m so happy to have found my forever home.

Can you offer one of our dogs a home?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families.

A home check will be required, along with an adoption donation of between £200 to £500 which helps to contribute to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.  Your case handler will advise the cost of each dog
