We’re delighted to introduce George Lane, one of our fantastic runners taking on the 2027 London Marathon for Sprocker Assist & Rescue.
George is 22, lives in Harlow and works as an electrician. He also has ADHD, which, in his own words, means he operates with roughly the same level of energy as a hyperactive spaniel. Frankly, we think that makes him an excellent fit for Team SAR!
Usually George can be found dashing between jobs with a toolbox in hand, but over the coming months he’ll be swapping some of that energy for running shoes as he trains to take on the full 26.2 miles of the London Marathon.
For George, the marathon is a big personal challenge — but one he’s chosen to use to make a difference too. By running for SAR, he’ll be raising vital funds to help us support sprockers and spaniels who need new homes, foster care and ongoing support.
Training for a marathon takes commitment, determination and quite a lot of miles. Luckily, George appears to have energy to spare. His biggest challenge may actually be making it around the London Marathon course without becoming distracted by every spaniel he spots along the way.
We’re thrilled to have George as part of our four-strong 2027 marathon team and we’ll be following his training, fundraising and inevitable adventures over the coming months.
Please get behind George and help him turn all that energy into something brilliant for the dogs who need us.
Good luck, George — 26.2 miles, you’ve got this!
